Ibinabo Fiberesim was born in Dublin, Ireland to Nigerian father Dr. Dawaridabo Babatunde Fiberesima and Irish mother Dr. Mrs. Bisola Fiberesima.
She is from Okrika, Rivers State, in Nigeria’s South-South region.
She began her education at the Port Harcourt YMCA Play Centre before moving on to the Federal Government Girls College in New Bussa, Niger State.
Ibinabo Fiberesim earned a Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Literature from the University of Ibadan.
She continued her studies at the Media Business School Ronda in Spain, where she earned a Master’s Degree in Audio Visual Management.

In 1991, Ibinabo Fiberesima competed in the Miss Nigeria beauty pageant. She was named the first runner-up in Bibiana Ohio.
She had previously won the Miss Wonderland pageant in 1990 and finished first runner-up in the Miss NUGA pageant held at the University of Calabar that same year.
She made her debut as the second runner-up in the 1992 edition of the Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria (MBGN) pageant.
She competed in and finished first runner-up in the 1997 Miss Nigeria pageant before being named Miss Wonderful that same year.
